Bay Point's Golf Courses
Located minutes from the white, sandy beaches of Panama City Beach, Bay Point offers two spectacular championship golf courses in Northwest Florida. Both golf courses are carved from the Florida Panhandle's natural terrain of scrub oaks, pines and salt-water marshes. You’ll find each golf course layout unique, challenging and definitely unforgettable.
You can choose from either the Meadows Country Club style course or the exciting Nicklaus Design course - the only Nicklaus Design Course in Northwest Florida - or you can play them both! Along with 36 unique and challenging holes, these top-notch Panama City golf courses offer an extensive practice area, consisting of a manicured putting green and driving range as well as one of the best Pro Shops in the area.
The Meadows Course The Meadow Course at Bay Point is pure country club, the kind of golf course members enjoy playing day after day and visitors return to year after year. Its occasionally tight fairways, numerous bunkers and lakes provide an ever-changing set of challenges.
Boasting 6,913 yards, it has the length to test the best golfer's distance. Even its advanced tees offer challenge as seen in handicap ratings which range from a 73 at the Ladies' Tees to a 73.3 at the Championship tees.
There's plenty of challenge here and a consistent demand for length, accuracy and playing strategy.
The Nicklaus Course
Lagoon Legend, the golf course known as one of the toughest and most challenging courses in the Florida Panhandle, underwent an "extreme makeover." The course closed in November 2004 and re-opened under its new name, the Nicklaus Course at Bay Point, on September 17, 2005.
Nicklaus Design team was selected to completely redesign and spearhead the project. The redesign consists of a complete renovation including the re-building of the tees, bunkers, and greens, as well as re-contouring of the fairways.
This par-72 championship-caliber course measures over 7,100 yards and is the first Nicklaus course in the Florida Panhandle.
The new course offers a dramatic and enjoyable challenge for novice and avid golfers. It incorporates the natural terrain of scrub oaks, pines and salt-water marshes and offers panoramic views of St. Andrew's Bay.
The new course opened to rave reviews and was just named by Travel + Leisure Golf as one of the most worthy redesigns and notable debuts in the state of Florida.
